Pre-race routine:

Up at 4:50, starbucks doubleshot, cliff bar.
Event warmup:

No warm up.
Swim
  • 10m 43s
  • 500 yards
  • 02m 08s / 100 yards
Comments:

Swim pace was slow, but my form wasn't bad, and I felt comfortable in the water.
What would you do differently?:

I need more time in the pool, especially w. fast repeats and shorter recovery periods
Transition 1
  • 00m 48s
Comments:

I was 7th overall on my transition time, but I had trouble mounting my bike w. shoes on pedals.
What would you do differently?:

I have to practice getting into my shoes after mounting the bike
Bike
  • 42m 9s
  • 14.5 miles
  • 20.64 mile/hr
Comments:

I really hit the bike hard. I was all out for the whole course. I wasn't passed all day, and did lots of passing.
What would you do differently?:

To become a better biker I am going to have to hit the weights. I can't put much more into my training or race effort.
Transition 2
  • 00m 39s
What would you do differently?:

I save time in T1 by not putting socks on for the bike ride, but I need them to run, so I give a little time back. O'll 55/454 in T2 which is good.
Run
  • 23m 12s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 07m 28s  min/mile
Comments:

I left it all on the bike course. It was a brutal run, but I dragged myself through it. I was passed 5 times. Ouch.

Stretching

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Overall swim and run training

Event comments:

Great day and lots of fun.
