Pre-race routine:

Got up early (5:30AM) since I don't do well on early morning runs.
Event warmup:

Ran 0.6 miles in 6 minutes. Stretched a lot.
  • 2h 20m 58s
  • 13.1 miles
  • 10m 46s  min/mile

This was indeed a trail run. Always going up or down in the mud and roots and leaves. A LOT of very steep climbs and descents. Some slippery rotted stairs too. Brutal run. At 1:40 I was just barely hanging on. 15 people finished within 3 minutes ahead of me and all 15 passed me from about 1:30 to 2:15.
What would you do differently?:

Go out a bit slower. I really took the difficult portions hard over the first 1:10.
Post race
Warm down:

Just walked it off and stretched out the cramps.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Training. This was my longest running ever, plus on a trail, plus I just started running 2 years ago, plus I don't run enough.

Event comments:

Trail was marked very well. Though I did go off trail once and lost about 1 minute.
