Total Time = 45m 48s
Overall Rank = 24/322
Age Group = 30-34
Age Group Rank = 2/21
Pre-race routine:

Got up at 3:45am to drive an hour and a half to Birmingham. There's something to be said about going the night before. I was stiff and sleepy when I got up there.
Event warmup:

Walked around, hopped on the bike.
Swim
  • 04m 7s
  • 200 yards
  • 02m 04s / 100 yards
Comments:

My first swim in a pool and I prefer open water swims much more! The lanes got terribly backed up.
Transition 1
  • 02m 15s
Comments:

Couldn't get my darn top on!
What would you do differently?:

Time to invest in a one-piece suit or go topless on the bike.
Bike
  • 26m 1s
  • 8.5 miles
  • 19.60 mile/hr
Comments:

Definitely the strongest part of the race. I passed a TON of people who weren't prepared for the course.
Transition 2
  • 00m 50s
Comments:

I did a great job of timing my jump off the bike. Unfortunately, the guy in front of me came to a dead stop, and I almost crashed. Add an okaytransition otherwise, and I missed my goal of a 30-second transition...next time!
Run
  • 12m 37s
  • 2 miles
  • 06m 19s  min/mile
Comments:

Felt really good on the run...just a little tired.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around a good 15 minutes, put away bike and all gear. Ate some fruit, took a shower, and watched everyone else come in.

Event comments:

First-class facility, great course for a mini-sprint geared towards beginners, first-class volunteers, and a first-class event. I'm definitely using this as a tune-up event next year.
