Comments: I did not do as well in the duathlon in the morning. For the TT, you signed up by estimated pace, so I was in the 22-24 pace. After the morning event, I thought I was going to be severely humbled. I was not feeling like I could do even 22 on a hilly course. I am a clydesdale. This is relevant here because of the announcer. Given my pace group, absolutely no one else had even a hint of a gut. Except for me. I am on the start ramp and the announcer look sat me and says over the speaker, "This is the 22-24 mph group." I just looked right back at him and said,"Oops." Now I was p..sed and my legs suddenly did not feel so sore. So I don't look like the rest of the guys who can ride a bike. So f-ing what? What would you do differently?: I could have signed up for the next speed group down (17-22) and probably placed. But that would have been a hollow placing for me. Also, this was my second race of the day. So really this was just about seeing what I could do. Post race
Warm down: Short, easy spin. What limited your ability to perform faster: Second race of the day. Also, my cleats were worn out. One foot kept coming out of the pedal. The cleats have already been replaced this morning. Last updated: 2009-11-01 12:00 AM
