Event warmup:

5-10 minute warm-up with some pickups. Tried to warm up the knee.

Comments:

Probably went out to fast.Was under 6 for first 1/2 mile, with 1st split 6:27ish. No endurance to hold it. Really died the last 3/4 mile. Knee held up pretty well. Was hoping to run faster, but the last 2-3 weeks couldn't keep the mileage up.
What would you do differently?:

Perhaps go out a little slower.

Warm down:

Walking, a light stretching by a PT that was there.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Was putting in some decent runs and workouts but then the left knee started causing problems. Started adding more days off, weekends have been tough lately. Went out too fast, hurt me towards the end.

Event comments:

Very good race, a LI-XC staple. Around for 30 years, but the first time doing it (the Saturday date is bad for me). Good comp. Would be perfect if they added team scoring. Great race nonetheless.
