I waited 9 months. It wasn't on purpose, though. I played indoor (coed) soccer 6 months after and didn't have problems. Then I started training for the sprint and did great.
In general swimming, biking and running (in a straight line) are good for your recovery. In fact that's how I got into trithalon. The PT suggested swimming and biking for my rehab. I asked him about triathlon and his face lit up. Now he's my regular guy for any pain.
Everyone's protocol is different, though. You should talk to your PT and/or ortho.
It depends on how well you do in PT and building back your strength. I was jogging on a treadmill about 4 months in and playing soccer at around the 9 month mark. It was really over a year before it felt really good for soccer. So for a sprint 9 months or so, less if you went into the repair in good shape more if your body doesn't cooperate with rehab.
