Subject: RE: St. Anthony's Triathlon : Official ThreadBoom808 - 2010-04-24 8:57 PM it was my first oly and despite not having trained for the last 2 months, i loved it! i think i got lucky because the swim felt great, the bike went suprisingly well... the run... not too good. ! I fell the same. My 1st Oly, nearly no run training due to nagging injuries. Swim was my biggest fear, but amazingly I did awesome. Looking at my watch I hit the stairs at 27 min, and was out of T1 in 30. Official time says out of T1 in 37, so I'm looking into what happened with that, but either way, I figured 45 mins in the water, but instead I didn't panic or need any rest breaks and kicked butt (for me at least ). Bike was what I expected, a little over 18 avg, but considering the headwind, was great for me. Run, not so good. Stomach upset for most of it, got sick at mile 3 twice, and finished it just under my bike time at 1:17. My prior 10k worst time was 1:05 so definitely off. But I crossed the finish line, got my medal, and actually feel great today!! Can't wait til next year. |
