Subject: RE: Kineso Tape I use it for ankle and arch support for an injured ankle and tendons, pre-op. It works well, even in water and sweat - but your skin has to be dry and non-greasy when you put it on. I use it with these skin-prep towelettes that are alcohol based and have a slightly sticky residue.
There are many videos on the web to help with application strategies. Play around with the amount of tension you need for support in a given area, and start light. Be careful when putting it over joints - I'd not do that unless you know you need it. (My ankle needs it, it's shot, but I wouldn't put tape across my kneecap! ).
It will stay on for a few days, depending on how much you sweat or shower. I wear a sock over it in a shoe because external friction (clothes, shoes ) seems to take it off quick. It sticks best to skin, not as well to itself.
In my opinion, it works, but you have to have a specific reason and strategy for using it - just randomly taping it around a body part that hurts is not a good idea. On my ankle I use it to assist muscles and ligaments that aren't working correctly, and to support a joint that is messed up. It won't cure it - it just helps me do day to day things and bike until it gets fixed. Can't run on it at all - it's not a miracle cure
