Pre-race routine:

Drove to site and waited in the school. Some minor stretching while waiting.
Event warmup:

Light stretching before going to the start line.

Great run, started out at 5:30 pace, then moved up to 4:xx pace for a couple of Ks, Final K at about 5 pace up the slight incline to the finish. Stopped at 6K mark to check if my car key was still on the shoe as I felt I kicked it and couldn't see them when running, so had to stop. Otherwise would have had a PB for the 8K distance.
What would you do differently?:

Put the key some place else, where it won't get kicked.

Warm down:

Walked to the school and had some food and water.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Stopping to check for my keys.

Event comments:

No water on the course, for me not an issue, but others were commenting on the fact that there was no water stations on the course.
