Total Time = 1h 29m 50s
Overall Rank = 12/100
Age Group = 30-39?
Age Group Rank = 1/
Pre-race routine:

Hit the elliptical at home for 20 minutes then showered and drove to the petit. Had a PB & J sandwich
Event warmup:

Took a couple of laps around - Given I was going to be doing 47.68 not feeling like I really need to take a tour of the race course :)
Run
  • 1h 29m 50s
  • 13.1 miles
  • 06m 52s  min/mile
Comments:

My goal was to stay in the top 3 females and knowing that I was going to be running another 24 or so laps later in the day I didn't want to push it more than I really had to. Not trying to be a slacker..just trying to race smart. I picked out one girl at the start and knew she was going to be my competition. Basically she smoked me. I started out at about a 6:30 pace but then dropped off after about 20 laps. I am sure I could have pushed it harder but again with the relay later in the day and also knowing that I have a huge race this next weekend I didn't want to risk anything.
What would you do differently?:

Not much. I am pleased with my results - I broke 1:30 - took 2nd place female....kept my title as "Queen of 2nd place"
Post race
Warm down:

Walked it off and stretched a lot.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Knowing I had another race to run later

Event comments:

This race was tough...13.1 miles on an indoor oval seeing the same scenery each time is a mental challenge. The volunteers and support was great. I liked not having to count my laps and being able to see on the screen each lap what my pace was and how many I had left. My only comment would be that those of us with not the best eyesight could have used a little bigger screen :)

Great race Lisa!  Amazing time especially given the potential boredom, etc.  How were the hills?  (insert rim shot here)
