Comments:

Felt great even after injuring myself in the middle of my training. I had a lot of fun and was worried in the beginning that I might hurt myself since I believe I might have gotten a stress fracture but I took 2 weeks off of it and slowly worked in some runs. It wasn't my best time but I'm extremely pleased with the finish.
What would you do differently?:

Avoid such an intensive training program and rotate my shoes after at least 400 miles. Mix up all the road running with a couple trail or beach runs.

Injury.

Event comments:

I love the Carlsbad 1/2 Marathon. This was my fourth year in a row doing the race and its by far my favorite race. I hope I get to do it for many more years. I also love that they give you a nice dry-fit long sleeved running shirt.

That's simply an amazing run so soon after an injury! Glad to hear nothing hurt during the race and you were able to finish strong. I WILL do this race with you someday, it sounds awesome.

Good luck w/ the taper + build turn around leading up to the next one!
