Swim
Comments: Although cold, the swim was great. I had a decent start, and got behind a woman who was going my pace for the first 400 yds or so, then I passed her. The current was right to left, and really pulled us on the 2nd leg. A little tricky sighting into the sun on the final leg, but a good swim overall. The visibility was great!! What would you do differently?: Nothing. Transition 1
Comments: Too slow a transition, I neglected to "Mark" my rack, wasted time!! What would you do differently?: Study the entrance and exits better during pre-race. Bike
Comments: A great course with no marshalls! Consequently it was full of drafting. Also, it was not marked at the final turn into T2--missid it and went another 1/3 mile or so, before I turned around. Cost me big time. All it would have taken is one volunteer, or a sign--because the course is so long there was NOBODY in front of me to follow. What would you do differently?: Follow the course? Transition 2
Run
Comments: I was devastated after blowing the bike ride, and not well enough trained to handle a race longer than 5k. It was tough. What would you do differently?: Train for the distance. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of course markings and insufficient training for the run. Event comments: Great Course--lousy bike course markings/marshalling Still--I'd do it again!! Last updated: 2010-01-28 12:00 AM
