Comments: Went hard, PR on Duathlon out run. What would you do differently?: nothing ![]() Transition 1
Comments: Put shoes on the bike prerace and easily slipped into pedals for the first time, hooray. Transition run of bike was extremely short. Next time here consider racking bike near run entrance. What would you do differently?: nothing ![]() Bike
Comments: Passed 37 bikes, no one has passed me yet on the new bike. Duathlon PR and second best bike race speed I believe. What would you do differently?: I think I pulled my feet out of pedals a little early. ![]() Transition 2
Comments: I probably took feet our of shoes early. Marcy video taped me on a little of the bike and I watched the T2 off the bike and I was a little slow. Given the short run to the bike race 20 feet I probably should have just kept the shoes on and powered all the way on the bike. I should have improved this transition by 15 seconds. What would you do differently?: leave feet in shoes, hustle through transition. I have been obsessed with shoes and learning to slip feet in and probably overthunk for this race. ![]() Run
Comments: Again I set a second run PR What would you do differently?: faster hah ![]() Post race
Warm down: light stretching, 2 bananas, Endurox, then some beer What limited your ability to perform faster: I think I was at the top of my game for this race, maybe a 57 mile warmup the day before works for me? Event comments: My best race of the year. The course close to perfect and I did almost everything well. I improved 6 minutes, 6 seconds off this race in October 2003 and I felt terrific. Beat last weeks time at same distance by almost 4 minutes. If the horse racing saying about horses for courses holds true, I believe this is my course. Last updated: 2005-05-12 12:00 AM

Rode 57 mile solo ride on Saturday morning, A Bud's Broiler Burger and dog for lunch. I had to do the ride for half iron training and I would only do the race tomorrow if I felt good. I went and watched my wife finish her adventure race, she had a pretty rough bike crash but is okay. Winner, Winner Chicken Dinner with coucous after. Had a zone bar and coffee for breakfast. Just me racing as wife was way to banged up to race but she did come with me. Tested bike when I got to course and did a half mile jog to warm up.
