Swim
Comments: The water was so turbulent and i had a backstroke/breastroke cruiser in my lane so it felt alot like a like swim rather than a pool. my visibility was about 4 feet. What would you do differently?: I didn't push hard enough. I should have had at least one more length in. Transition 1
Comments: i had trouble setting the spin bike (my first time ever using one) What would you do differently?: i would not use my clip in cycling shoes on the spin bike Bike
Comments: I didn't know how to set the bike up. it was hard to get the basket clips off so i could use me bike shoes What would you do differently?: I would set the bike one click higher than J and maybe move the handle bars up. i would start with the seat back one further than 3. set tension a pinch higher - no bouncing I would just use the basket clips with my running shoes Transition 2
Comments: i change shoes, socks, shorts and shirt and peed. i arrived at the run with 20 secs to spare but they did not have a treadmill available. A woman from the previous wave was allowed to continue into my time causing me to start 14 seconds late. What would you do differently?: i would just use the same out and not change Run
Comments: I should have gotten up to speed faster. It was 30 secs befor I was up to a 7 minute mile and another minute before I was at 6 min pace. even so - I was dying before it was over. What would you do differently?: coming with the same outfit on will resolve start issues. i would get up to speed faster Post race
Warm down: none - i will pay for this i am sure What limited your ability to perform faster: completely new to spin cycling, not using treadmills to train Event comments: I like the fact the race is available. It is nice to have opportunities to do winter tris in OH. I don't like using a spin bike. it would make more sense to use a fitness cycle. check in 1.25 hours prior to start
lay out gear, have 16 oz heed
get bike settings - I used J seat height, handle bars low, seat all the way forward
watch racers in earlier waves
15 minutes prior to start GU, inhaler get to start line.
