Overall Rank = 11/
Age Group = M 25-29
Age Group Rank = 3/
Pre-race routine:

Woke up and ate a power bar. We were running late and were pretty disorganized, so we got to the race 30 min later than planned. Quickly went through body marking and got set up.
Event warmup:

I did about a 15 minute WU. I needed more, but didn't have time. Also no time for a bathroom stop before the race.
Run
  • 18m 29s
  • 3 miles
  • 06m 10s  min/mile
Comments:

Because I raced the 10k yesterday, my legs took a while to warm up. It was almost until the first mile marker that I really could get them moving. I paced this well, not going out too hard and holding something back for the bike.
What would you do differently?:

Longer warm up and not race the day before hand.
Transition 1
  • 00m
Comments:

Slow transition. I had a hard time getting in my shoes and getting my helmet on. Probably lost 30 seconds here.
What would you do differently?:

Practice and think it through.
Bike
  • 39m
  • 15 miles
  • 23.08 mile/hr
Comments:

Overall, this was a very good bike. My cadence was too low and I tried to grind it out, but I was flying. Average speed is low due to the turns and technical course, but the new bike was perfect.
What would you do differently?:

Keep my cadence up.
Transition 2
  • 00m
Comments:

Crank arm fell off as I came into transition, so I had to run back and pick it up. Another horrible transition. Two people passed me during this time.
What would you do differently?:

Practice and make sure my bike is put tight!
Run
  • 18m 35s
  • 3 miles
  • 06m 11s  min/mile
Comments:

My legs were smoked, but I kept the same pace as I did for the first run. Overall my running was pretty slow today, but I was able to keep the effort level high and hold my ground. Finish was strong
What would you do differently?:

Higher bike cadence would have kept my legs looser.
Post race
Warm down:

Walk around some and eat!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

My legs were tired from Saturday and I haven't been doing much cycling.

Thanks!  It sure felt a lot slower.  I thought I was barely moving for that second run.
