Busselton 1/2 Ironman : Official Thread

Hope your training is on track to beat 5hrs. Tough ask fist time out but you seem to being going well.

You're both going to smash Busso, with your training seemingly going so well!  Me?  I'd just like to finish

Well Geoff will smash 5hrs, me on the other hand I shall be happy with 5:10.00 to 5:20.00.
Being your first, I would be happy just to finish too! This will be my 3rd time down there.
I haven't organised accommodation yet, so fingers crossed its not too late....

I am probably going to have to camp out this year, any chance someone could look after my bike the night after the race. I don't wish to leave it in the car. Cheers.

Hi All , I'm back from Bali. Good to see everyone chatting on here. I've got 3 1/2 weeks of race specific training to get through before I taper. The rest in Bali has done me a world of good - feel stronger. I did about a an hour a day of training - no riding, just alternating between swimming and running. It was hard running in Bali with the humidity but I seemed to keep a good pace on the beach. My pool was 40m in length and I was the only person swimming at 6am each morning so I could get through my workout easy. Didnt drink much also but I still seemed to have put on a couple of kilo's. 

I've not sorted an accomodation wither but I have a mate with a million dollar house in Yallingup who is happy for me to have the keys. Not sure if it's too far out from Busso??? Has anyone stayed out there before and travelled to Busso for the race. 

Hey fatty, just kidding! Hope you had a great time in Bali, the food is what puts the kilos on. Yallingup is 45 mins from Busselton.

Funny thing is I do feel fat  

45 min isnt too bad ? I might consider it. 

Well, I have booked a camp site at Kookaburra Caravan Park, directly opposite Bernard Park.
Camping out in the back of my wagon but I do have a 3 room tent I can set-up if anyone is stuck. I wish to organise a group casual ride over the 45km course about lunchtime on the Friday probably averaging about 25km/hr. If anyone is interested, let me know.

Hey mate - i'll be up for the ride. We are staying (wife and kids) in some Chalets in Busso. We are driving early Friday morning.

Is that up or down, cos I haven't even tapered up yet. Oh well.

Oh and i will be staying at http://www.peppermintpark.com.au/I found out my sister in-laws boyfriends family owns it. Now that's convenient!
