Swim
Comments: Fair for a seeded swim. Not as much trouble with bottlenecks, though I did have to wait and pass one person at the end of a lane. Lost valuable seconds going under ropes to next lane. What would you do differently?: Practice, somehow, switching lanes. Transition 1
Comments: All went well until I went to mount the bike. I had my shoes tied laterally via rubber bands, but when I stepped on the right pedal, I did not have my balance and had to stop. That threw everything subsequently a-kilter. Then, once around the corner, I had diffiiculty getting my left foot into the shoe--balance, again. What would you do differently?: Practice putting on the shoes. Bike
Comments: Good ride; not many complaints. I was better than my last ride on this course, but not as good as over half the competition! What would you do differently?: Practice more intervals. Transition 2
Comments: Need to practice bricks. What would you do differently?: practice Run
Comments: The run sucked! I started cramping in my abdomen just under 2 miles, so badly I could hardly stand up and had to walk half a mile before I could run again. This is the worst it's ever been in three races, and I do not know what factors are contributing to it, but it's killing me. What would you do differently?: Short of someone giving me a definite answer on what causes side stitches and how to prevent them? (That's an understatement!) I don't know. Post race
Warm down: Drank, walked, ate. What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of practice. Event comments: The race was fine; I just wasn't satisfied because I didn't meet all my goals. Last updated: 2005-06-18 12:00 AM
