Overcast
Total Time = 1h 15m 3s
Overall Rank = 31/124
Age Group = 35-39
Age Group Rank = 9/18
Pre-race routine:

Didn't really do anything except for eat early and make sure I didn't have to use the wash room.
Event warmup:

Didn't really do anything
Swim
  • 14m 35s
  • 500 meters
  • 02m 55s / 100 meters
Comments:

Much much harder than I thought, and it seemed much harder than swimming in the pool. However, this (outside of transitions) is what I most wanted to experience out of this triathlon.
What would you do differently?:

I'd train for swimming more, and I'd get coaching.
Transition 1
  • 00m
Comments:

Lost time with tri top, with socks, and with number.
What would you do differently?:

I'll get a number belt, and I'll lay things out a bit different.
Bike
  • 38m 4s
  • 20 kms
  • 31.52 km/hr
Comments:

I felt good about this, and I was happy with my performance. The only people to pass me looked very fit on very good bikes.
What would you do differently?:

I would use a racing bike rather than my touring bike (but I can't afford that yet). I could have gone faster, but I wanted to make sure that I wouldn't destroy my run.
Transition 2
  • 00m
Comments:

Couldn't find rack spot easily.
What would you do differently?:

I'll figure a better way of spotting my rack spot.
Run
  • 22m 23s
  • 5 kms
  • 04m 29s  min/km
Comments:

I felt like I had dead legs, but my run was still felt strong, and apparently it was a lot stronger than I thought it was (although nobody passed me on the run -- I guess the faster people were already ahead of me).
What would you do differently?:

Learn to drink out of a noral cup while running. I splashed water up my nose (wasn't very pleasant).
Post race
Warm down:

None really, too preoccupied with finishing.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Swim, transition experience, and no race bike.

Event comments:

It was my first Tri, so I don't really have anything to compare it to. It was also a test to see if I would actually enjoy it, and I must say I'll be doing more of them.
