Subject: Cheating at golf without playing the game.

So I'm in the UK at the moment and my morning run on the foot paths took me along a section of a golf course.
Here's how it went. Ball hits tree and bounces close to me. At first I thought, "phew, that could have hit me". Then I thought, "the poor guy/gal is never going to find this one".
So I picked it up and tossed it back into a playable rough area.
I feel someone owes me a beer.

They were trying to hit you... for running on the golf course.

I was playing the game once during a company outing. The group behind us hit into us twice. The third time I decided the problem was the ball was getting too much UV exposure, so I put a nice pile of sunscreen on it.

I suppose that was cheating, but they stopped hitting into us.

At least you were nice.

I once saw an old guy that nearly got hit by a drive that went into his lane.  He was so pissed off that he was almost hit that he pocketed the ball.  Kind of a jerk.

When I did research during the summers in College my professor and A couple of the guys would go Golfing at the 9 hole univesity course every Friday. Well one Friday we were on the 5th I think, Getting ready to T off when my professor was hit in the back of his shoulder with a hard driven slice. Turns out one of the guys from the "pro club" (I use that term loosely in regards to this golf course) was testing some new clubs on the 3rd and just nailed it into him. Needles to say, they didnt make him pay for another round all summer. He also had a grapefruit sized welt there for a few weeks.

Unless you were a slow foursome holding up a twosome... then you got what you deserved! :^)
