Anyone doing any of these races?

Anyone know what the water temperature of the lake is at this time?

I am considering the Super Sprint on Sat.  but with no wet suit, need to know how the water temp is doing.

Thanks

I'm doing the short course on Sunday.  It's my first race.  Definitely going to need a wetsuit.  It's still two days away and I'm already buzzing.

I wimped out...  Water was too cold to try without wet suit and the 2 hr drive made it a no go...

Sorry to hear that!  It was a bit chilly, I only saw a few people without a suit, primaryly in the sprint.

Next time!

I did the oly as a quality training day and enjoyed it.  I love training in Clermont..love the hills I don't get down here.

The swim was COLD for the first loop, and that was with a wetsuit!  Otherwise temps were great and it was a fine race.

Used to live down there and did it at those temps. Survived okay in a sleevless in the longer race. I'd recommend that you put some warm socks on or maybe non-tri shoes for the bike. My feet got so cold that they were numb for the 1st half of the run. I rode in my Sidis with no socks.  I'd think you could get away with the Sprint face with no wetsuit if you take some precautions to stay warmer on the bike.

this was my 1st race of the season (and only my 3rd overall) - did the short course on sunday.  wore a sleeveless ws and didn't think the water was too cold, and i'm from so fla.  what did kill me was the hills.  OMG I had no idea that florida could be so hilly.  being from jupiter (near west palm) i never have any hills to train on other than bridges over the intracoastal which i'm sure most in the clermont area would just laugh at  overall a good race, and got out of it what i was looking for.

Actually, I think the hills are pretty good quality...it's not Boulder, BUT....there are some good and constant hills there.

agree, the clermont hills were of great quality - i was picking on the "hills" we have in so fla to train on.  a 4% grade up a draw bridge is nothing like the 12% grade my computer said i was climbing in clermont!  i couldn't imagine going to boulder with just my so fla training. Laughing
