Overall Rank = 53/348
Age Group = 40-44
Age Group Rank = 20/53
Pre-race routine:

Got up early (couldn't sleep anyway!), quick shower and breakfast and got to the event about 1 hour before start (and 2 hours before my swim start).
Event warmup:

Half hour before my scheduled swim start, got into the warm pool for about 15 minutes of easy warm-up swimming.
Swim
  • 04m 36s
  • 250 yards
  • 01m 50s / 100 yards
Comments:

Felt really good for my first tri swim.
What would you do differently?:

Gone quicker! I wasn't tired or out of breath when I got out of the water, so I obviously had a lot left in the tank.
Transition 1
  • 02m 52s
Comments:

Very slow, partially because I was taking my time and trying to get it right, but partially because of inexperience. Also, took the time to towel off and put on long sleeve jersey because of temps.
What would you do differently?:

Not messed around with my gloves - took about 30 seconds.
Bike
  • 39m 46s
  • 12.43 miles
  • 18.75 mile/hr
Comments:

Good effort for my first tri and first time racing on a bike. Passed a bunch of people, but I was pretty far back in the pack due to my swim start time.
What would you do differently?:

Work harder in training. Still need to get stronger on the hills.
Transition 2
  • 02m 3s
Comments:

Again, slower than I should have been. Need to practice transitions.
What would you do differently?:

Buy some of those quick laces for running shoes!
Run
  • 21m 43s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 06m 59s  min/mile
Comments:

Felt good. Appropriate amount of effort, good pacing. Legs felt OK even at the start - better than they had during my brick workouts.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing - very satisfied with my run performance.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around, got food!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Training. Need to get stronger on the bike, and spend more time in the pool.

Event comments:

Very well run race - would highly recommend.
