i was so pist that they cancelled the swim...that was my strength, But I completely understand the saftey and the contract issues with cancelling it.

When I was waiting to watch the sprint start, I was talking to someone who said that a police boat sank on friday night with those 75 mph winds...

but I agree, that the water looked perfect when the oly race was over.

I did get pist again, when the mayor of galveston said "sorry about the weather, but it looks to be perfect for the 70.3 tomorrow..."  mayor of Galveston---you suck!

other than that, good race, alot of fun, did better than i expected on the bike and swim..

the headwind on the way back in was brutal...but at least I was cool.

Now sure how accurate those are...they show me with a time, and split times, even though I DNS. Kind of annoying actually because my "time" on there puts me last in my age group, with a run time of like 60min!  I haven't ever been that slow LOL - I am pretty slow!

They feel a little off to me also but I'm not sure.

I'm pretty happy with what I did though. I am ready to move on to the next one!

You can read about my experience here if you'd like!

How did you find this page?

I clicked on the results page on the ironmanlonestar.com page. At first it looked as though that would only be showing the 70.3 results, but if you scroll down the page a little, there is a section called "short course results" and Lonestar sprint, and lonestar Olympic are choices.
