Comments: Well, the first problem I encountered was being way way too far back in the crowd at the start line. It took me forever to get past the walkers, slow joggers, and baby strollers to get into my stride. It was actually quite frustrating for the first minute of the run. Once I got past my first mile (8:30), I was able to stretch it out to a 7:40 second mile. Unfortunately, I started to fade at the 2 1/2 mile area, back down to an 8:00 pace. I really wanted to break 24 minutes on this run, so I am a little disappointed, but my overall run fitness is still good and where it should be for my HIM training. What would you do differently?: Start much closer to the faster runners at the front. Post race

Woke up at 5:15. Hit the snooze a couple of times since it was hard to get out of bed this morning. Ate a whole wheat english muffin with butter and downed a half a bottle of Vitamin Water.
Short jog (1/4 mile) and the legs felt very heavy
