Total Time = 1h 19m 50s
Overall Rank = 135/438
Age Group = 30-34
Age Group Rank = 27/50
Pre-race routine:

Woke up and drove 1.5hr to race site. Tried to eat an Apricot Clif Bar. I do not recommend this flavor. It tasted like a cough drop. Now, I did have a cough, but the 2 bites I took did not help it. Drank my coffee instead.
Event warmup:

Swam 200.
Swim
  • 13m 13s
  • 600 meters
  • 02m 12s / 100 meters
Comments:

First 200 or so went fine, then started having breathing problems. Started breathing on Right only (bouys were on left). I'll figure it out someday. Watch read 12min when I got out of the water. Then I had to run what felt like a 5K to T1.
What would you do differently?:

Swim faster
Transition 1
  • 01m
Comments:

Did not wear socks this time.Down hill run with bike to mount/dismount line. Difficult in bike shoes.
What would you do differently?:

Be faster
Bike
  • 40m 23s
  • 12.4 miles
  • 18.42 mile/hr
Comments:

Was able to drink this time. Wish I had more power. Lots of people flew past me when I thought I was going fast.
What would you do differently?:

I need to ride more.
Transition 2
  • 00m 53s
Comments:

I don't know what took me so long. I thought everything went smooth/fast.
What would you do differently?:

Don't know what took so long.
Run
  • 25m 11s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 08m 07s  min/mile
Comments:

My watch read 24:25, don't know why the discrepancy. Could not drink. Someone tried to pass me at the end. I never saw him, but I could hear him. He must have been the crowd favorite, cause I could hear them cheering for him. When I heard him right beside me, I started sprinting. We crossed the timing mat at the same time, don't know who finished first. I was so mad/disappointed with my overall time that I never looked to see who it was. I hope it was not the 84yo guy.
What would you do differently?:

Push myself harder.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around, ate, drank.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Still learning how to push myself. I can go faster, just need to do it.

Event comments:

The volunteers on the run were intersting. I think they were locals. Some were animated and supportive (especially the guy at the last cul-de-sac), some looked like they were fulfilling court ordered community service.
