I was surprised by how fast everyone took off! Tried to keep up for a bit, and then remembered to run my own race.
What would you do differently?:

Took my time in T1. Drank some water. Made sure helmet was on and fastened before doing anything else.

Average for me right now. Had myself convinced that 3 miles was the turn around point. Wrong! Turn around at 6! I was starving by mile 2. I wanted to lie down on the highway at about mile 10, but I pushed on.
What would you do differently?:

Spend more time on the bike. I think I've spent a total of 120 miles on the bike as an adult.

It was really starting to warm up by the time I was doing the last run. Humidity was reminicent of last Sunday. I was pretty tired from the bike when I started my 'run'. I couldn't do much more than run 30 seconds, then walk 30 seconds for the whole 5k. :(
What would you do differently?:

Train more.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not knowing when our wave started caused some fueling issues.
Lack of time on the bike.
Maybe my legs were still tired from the 1/2 marathon last Sunday.

Event comments:

Better water needed at the stations. Stinky swamp water doesn't taste too good. Wish they had posted a list of wave starts, not necessarily, but at least the order. This would have helped the fueling issues.
I'm ok with the time for my first duathlon. I'm calling it my benchmark race.
