Subject: Lower Stroke Count = Faster? Firstly, thank you to everyone who helped me by critiquing my swim vid. In the pool today, while doing a maximum distance per stroke drill, I decided to count my strokes. It came up 2 less than before my critiques, and I was taking long glides at quite a low cadence. So apparently my efficiency has improved. I didn't, however, time myself. So my questions are: Does this mean that I should try to duplicate this newly-found stroke at a faster rate now? Or stay at the comfortable gliding cadence and let speed increase as I progress? Thanks again, Allen |
