Comments: It was hot, humid, windy and hilly. The rain actually helped keep me somewhat cool, but the humidity caught up with me by the end...as did the hills. Felt good through the big climb and roughly up until the halfway point and then I noticed some irritation in my quads. By 16 I felt twitching in both the quads and calves and had a hard time keeping my pace. By 20, when I wanted to speed up, it was all I could do to hang on until the end. The last few miles were beyond brutal and I really did want to stop and walk, but didn't. What would you do differently?: More hill work and more lower body weight work.Hydrate!!! Post race
Warm down: Not much. Walked the finishers area. What limited your ability to perform faster: Humidity and hills. Last updated: 2010-04-08 12:00 AM

Up at 4:30. Ate a plain bagel, most of a Powerbar, a couple Gu Shots and a few bites of a banana. Stretched very briefly in the hotel lobby and drank water and Gatorade.
Walk to the start line of about a half mile.
