Swim
Comments: Had a great swim. The start was a little rough, but it thinned out pretty quickly. My wetsuit feels so much better now that I have lost the weight. Not so tight, better breathing. I tended to veer to the right when swimming but overall swam pretty straight. Transition 1
Comments: Had problems getting my wetsuit zipper to come down. Only the second time wearing it this year (first time under pressure). I was able to get it off my legs pretty well. What would you do differently?: More wetsuit time. Bike
Comments: This course was much more hilly than I remember. Really a lot of hills. The first couple of miles were pretty fast and then the hills came. Overall I was very happy with the bike. It took a lot out of me, but I did what I hoped to do. Odometer/speedometer was off from the very beginning...that was annoying. What would you do differently?: Need to continue to bike some hills. Transition 2
Comments: Ran past my bike rack...again. Really need to work on this. Felt rushed and confused during this transition, but was overall happy with this time. What would you do differently?: Practice transition more. Run
Comments: The beginning of the run was REALLY tough. Straight out of the gate is a pretty steep hill. I was worried that I wasn't going to be able to keep things together. But my legs loosened up a bit. Trail running is just so different from running on pavement. I haven't done very much of it and it does require some different muscle groups. Didn't run with my knee brace for the first time in a month and felt fine. No knee pain whatsoever. What would you do differently?: Run trails and more hills. Post race
Warm down: Walked and ate some watermelon. What limited your ability to perform faster: The year off from triathlons. Need to run faster ;) Last updated: 2010-01-31 12:00 AM

Got up at 4:45 and got dressed. Took about an hour to get to the race location. Picked up my packet and set up transition. Was really there way to early so I had time to walk around and check things out. Ate a banana and protein shake on the ride over and then some jelly beans right before the swim.
Getting into my wetsuit ;)
