Comments: I felt very well rested and ready to go for this race. I wasn't sure what kind of goal to set so I decided that if I felt good I would shoot for under 45:00. If I felt okay, I would try for 48 minutes. As I stood at in my wave waiting to get going, I decided that I would try to go out strong. I am figuring out that if I run faster at the beginning, I am capable of running a faster race. I kept a strong pace through the first 4 miles but I could feel myself slowing down during the last two. There was a brief stretch on Folsom where I really tried to pick up the pace a little bit. The last .2 of the race was definitely my slowest. I had a little foot pain and some pretty good cramps developing in my calves by the end. When I descended into the stadium, I knew I would easily break 45 minutes so I didn't kick too hard at the end. Overall, I am very pleased with how I did in the race. What would you do differently?: Might have tried to kick a little harder to the finish. Post race

Woke up around 5:00 and drove down to the starting line. Had a banana, small bagel and Powerade Zero prior to the race.
Not much. A little light jogging to the starting line.
