Hi everyone........it just a little over a month away and I thought I would head up there this Sunday June 6  to check out the routes.   I'll be riding and swimming....no running for me...nursing calf muscle issues!  Anyone interested?  Since its a long drive up from Boston, I'll probably be leaving around 7 or 8AM

I would go, but we'll be volunteering at Mooseman on Sunday.  Enjoy the ride and let us know how the roads are up there!

Looked at weather for today and it said 100% chance of T-storms......So I decided to stay home instead!  I am hoping to get up there in the next couple of weeks!

Bike course - 7 miles of downhill bliss - 30-40 mph!!!!!! 4 miles thru neighborhoods with some short and steep hills - 9 miles of climbing back to the transition zone.   Gradual but sustained!!!!

Run course - FUN!  Through the quiet back roads, views of the mountains, gurgling streams, single lane bridges - fairly flat!  Only found 4 miles and I followed the map so I am not sure where that last mile comes from.

Cool!  Thanks for the info!  Rcberto and I are planning to head over to ride the course on Monday.  Really looking forward to this event.  Are a lot of people doing the lord of the flies (all 3 races)?  This will be the first time I've done this event and I'm really interested to see how my body reacts.

Went and road the TT and Oly bike course today.  The TT isn't too bad; the "hill" on the course really isn't very big so I wouldn't be too worried about that.  The roads could be in better condition, but weren't too rough.  However, I would definitely recommend that people make sure they save some energy for the way back on the bike course.  Today the wind was at our back on the way out and its downhill so it was very fast.  However, the wind in your face on the uphills on the way back were no cake walk so be ready.

Don't want to gross out or disappoint any one, but we did go in the water for a few minutes after the ride and my friend and I both came out of the water with some small leaches on us!  Wasn't expecting that and wasn't overly thrilled to see them to say the least.  Again, I hope that doesn't turn people off to bad, but figured I should let people know.

Were you wearing wetsuits at least?   I don't like leeches

No, I didn't have a wetsuit on.  It was more of a cool down swim and I just went across and back a couple times.  I was standing with my feet in the muck for a little bit after just cooling down and chatting with my buddy so I'm hoping this won't be too big of an issue during the races.  Nonetheless, a few of female friends are now on quests to find booties for the swim.  I just might be wearing my booties as well.

Isn't this swim a time trial start?  You'll basically run into the water and start swimming.  I am not going to worry about leaches because they'll all be trampled by the time I get in the water.  Now that I think about it....they won't have time to attach themselves to you anyway.

I was hoping to hear that the bike course was uphill on the way out and down on the way back....ugh.  Legs are going to be shot for the run.  I'm excited!
