Comments: First ever race - So it was a PR for sure. I was happy to stay under 10 min/miles!! I felt really good throughout the entire race. I thought that I may have left too much in the tank, but that was proved wrong pretty quickly as I tried to pick it up for the last mile. I left it on the course and am pretty proud of my self for doing this. Lap Time Distance Pace/Speed AHR MHR 1 09m 47s 1.00 miles 09m 47s /mile 149 177 2 10m 12s 1.00 miles 10m 12s /mile 161 174 3 09m 36s 1.00 miles 09m 36s /mile 165 180 4 01m 18s 0.16 miles 08m 08s /mile 169 172 From my Garmin, does not quite match official time from event. What would you do differently?: Could have maintained my pace in the 2nd mile. Not really sure what happened there. Otherwise I am pretty happy with the race. Post race
Warm down: Walked back to the car with family, and stretched out the legs. What limited your ability to perform faster: Overall fitness and running ability. I just started training seriously in the past couple of months. I could barely run a mile 3 months ago. Event comments: Had a blast and now onto my sprint tri in July. Had a tough time sleeping as there were some pretty loud thunderstorms that woke me up and I really struggled to get back to sleep. Ate a bowl of Kashi cereal with blueberries, and got ready to leave with the family.
Walked to starting area and jogged around a block or two and spent some time stretching.
