Swim
Comments: I suck at swimming, but I've learned to suck more efficiently. I managed to not be totally wasted when I eventually got back to the beach. I also managed not to panic this time despite the choppiness. Nice combo of freestyle and backstroke for the duration. What would you do differently?: Need to work on tracking buoys better. I missed the first turn buoy 75m wide. I watched nearly the entire first wave get pushed way left by the current, so I thought I'd compensate a bit...just way too much. Transition 1
Comments: A little slower than I'd like. I swam topless and had a really difficult time getting my shirt over my wet body. What would you do differently?: Get a tri-top or bike shirtless. Bike
Comments: I felt like a worked pretty hard but just didn't put down a decent time. I kinda struggled with the wind. Oh yea, and almost got run over by a truck over on hwy225 (not good for the heartrate). What would you do differently?: Push a little harder the last 4 miles. Transition 2
Comments: I always do pretty well here because I ride with my running shoes strapped in. So, I simple rack bike and go. Run
Comments: Hot, Hot, Hot!!! As usual, it took 1.5 miles to lose my bike legs and really begin to stretch out. I kinda just held a comfortable jog after that because I wasn't sure how this heat would effect me. A guy near the run turn around sprayed everybody with a water sprinkler and I immediately felt my pace speed up 30 seconds (felt great). What would you do differently?: Wear a hat. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Heat, still learning how to swim and bike. Last updated: 2010-06-13 12:00 AM

Up at 4:30am. Shower, piece of pizza, banana, and a little gatorade.
None, just stood there watching the water and asking myself, "what the hell were you thinking?"
