Subject: Custom Running/Racing Shirt?
Is there someway to make a custom shirt to bike/run in? I am thinking about trying to raise money for charity while I race and I would be running in memory of my dad. I would love to get a shirt made that had the name of the organization on it and maybe even a picture of him. All I can think of is those old mall stores where I could look for hours at the iron-ons of rainbows and unicorns that I wanted to get put on my baseball t-shirts

Kinko's.

If you're just talking plain ol' cotton T-shirt, they could create essentially whatever you want on it.  Graphics?  Pictures?  You can do it all there.  You'll be fairly limited to size, as it would be on transfer paper (think iron-on, but much higher quality; I still wear shirts I made 7 years ago with this stuff), so 11x17 would be the upper limit, but since I worked there, the technology/options may have changed.

Sorry to sound like an advertisement, but you can do some really cool sh#t at Kinko's.

These guys may or may not be able to do the picture thing, BUT I LOVE them, so I'll spread my love for them.

just go to your local screen printing shop. Look in the yellow pages and call them. Dont go to kinkos, they make copies. If you want shirts done right, go to a good local shop. Usually they can even screen print on whatever kind of shirt you want, so if you like those wick away shirts then bring those. Buy local!

Thanks everyone. I was thinking of a wicking shirt - I don't think I could wear cotton even in a short race. I didn't even think of calling a screenprinting place since I'll probably only be making one or two shirts, but now I will call today. I would love to surprise my mom by wearing a shirt with my dad on it!

You can get one of these that are designed for screen printing.

for a couple of shirts, you arent going to screenprint, but do some kind of transfer. Most local screen printing shops can do that as well. Any place good will let you bring in your own shirts too.

There are some places online that will do custom silkscreening or transfers at a pretty good rate.

I'm kind of thinking of a custom Tri-shirt as well. I really don't care for anything currently available.
