Total Time = 1h 19m 2s
Overall Rank = 31/250
Age Group = 35-39
Age Group Rank = 5/15
Pre-race routine:

First race of the year. Got up early, had packed the night before.
Event warmup:

Did a little swimming since I only got the wetsuit 2 days prior and had never swam in a full sleeve, long legged wetsuit.
Swim
  • 10m 7s
  • 580 yards
  • 01m 44s / 100 yards
Comments:

The new suit definitely made me faster, but I think I went too hard. I lost my form and breathing with about 75 yards to go.
What would you do differently?:

Start at a slower pace.
Transition 1
  • 02m 1s
Comments:

New wetsuit definitely added more time to transition, and did not find my rack spot easily.
What would you do differently?:

In races where there are no assigned spots for transition I will take either the first or last rack just to make it easier to find my spot.
Bike
  • 38m 27s
  • 12 miles
  • 18.73 mile/hr
Comments:

I wish I could have pre ridden the course, but I will now know it for next year. I cannot complain since biking has lacked the last few weeks and this was my first race.
What would you do differently?:

Pre-ride the course.
Transition 2
  • 01m 26s
Comments:

Had issues finding my rack again. Between the two transitions I could have saved 1 minute if done smoother.
What would you do differently?:

Same as what I said in T1 section.
Run
  • 27m 4s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 08m 44s  min/mile
Comments:

Definitely blew up with about 1K to go. Some of it was probably fitness, but I know I could have done a little better. I passed only 1 person, but did get passed by about five.
What would you do differently?:

Pushed a little harder.
Post race
Warm down:

I had to rush home for my sons championship baseball game (which they won) so I did not get to experience much of the post race activities. I basically grabbed the free lunch and jumped in the car and left.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I just need to improve my fitness a tiny bit more. I cannot complain about my first tri of the year and now know where I need to improve.

Event comments:

I will definitely go back next year.
