The group is really quiet!  I'm curious what everyone is doing this time of year.

I'm trying to layout out my season.  I have a couple of running races, so focused on that, but trying to decide if I can pretty much drop swim & bike for a bit, or if I need to keep up a little.  I'm leaning toward the latter in thought, but the running is pushing me toward for former for the sake of time...

I've never trained for such an early season race.

Where are ya'll (<- had to throw that in for the Tx crowd) at with your training?

Right now I am trying to build my base for serious training beginning in late November.  Trying to get to a normal training routine where a swimming 2K twice per week and a 2 hour Saturday Run and a 70-80 Mile Sunday ride are just normal.  I think for me a 12-14 hour training week would be ideal for now.  With that said work and family responsibilites keep taking priorities for now.    My biggest priority is getting my diet right; ideally I need to drop at least the 20+ pounds I have gained since my last IM by November (this is my biggest challenge!).

I have to be honest...right now I'm pretty much doing nothing. I'll go for a run every a few times a week, but haven't been in the pool or on the bike in a while.

That will all come to an end on Monday...coach says it's time. I told him I need a "couch potato to Ironman" training plan.

My orginal plan was to complete IMFL , recover and then start training for IMTX. 9 days before IMFL, I broke my toe and was unable to go to the race. Surgery a few days ago to repair additional damage done to the toe during the accident. The new plan is to recover (4-6) weeks and then start building my base back up for IMTX.

I haven't been on BT in a while, but thought I would check out which BTers are racing IMTX. I got in too.

I went out and drove the bike course this week, there are some decent rolling hills out there but I'm not sure of the overall elevation change. Looks like a beautiful ride.

Best of luck with training everyone, and take care of that femur Haley. See you all in May.

Ooops.  I was on my folks computer and didn't realize I was on my Mom's account.  I will be the one doing IMTX.  There is no way in hell my mother would do it.  Ever.  In fact, I don't think I have a blood relative who would even contemplate doing an IM.

So yeah, best of luck with training everyone.  I am planning to ride the course, or at least segments of it, so I will be sure to post any information about the course that might be useful to you guys in this thread.

You may want to check the IMTX thread on the Texas Forum, a lot of info there.  someday that thread will be moved here, but it still gets frequent updates.
