Comments: Did much better than I expected. My external cooling methods really worked, and I felt fine throughout the race. Drank more than enough fluids. What would you do differently?: Nothing Post race
Warm down: Was greeted at the finish line with 2 soaking wet, ice cold towels. They felt amazing! Sat in the shade drinking cold fluids and continued to soak myself with cold water. What limited your ability to perform faster: Heat, but that was the point of doing this race. Event comments: Great race, if you want a challenge. Not routine at all. Race started at noon, so I had pancakes for breakfast, which is totally different for me. I also had to drench myself with cold water before the race started.
No need to warmup. It was already hotter than Satan's taint when I got there at 10:30AM.
