Swim
Comments: Felt strong the entire time, good at drafting and sighting. Of course I was not as fast as those Junior elite kids, those guys are insane. Pushed hard the entire time, felt confident in my standing after the swim. What would you do differently?: Nothing (aside form more swim practice) Transition 1
What would you do differently?: I love my fast T times! Granted, it could have been faster, because T zone was really big and I had a bad position (right next to the swim entrance, so I had to run the entire way with my stuff). Cost me only a few seconds in the end. Bike
Transition 2
What would you do differently?: Nothing, except not drop sunglasses and fumble with shoes. Run
Comments: Stomach cramped going out, had to walk for a few moments to control myself. Once I got to the turnaround, lengthened the stride and carried it on home. Definitely negative spitted this one. What would you do differently?: I need to do more run drills to get faster. Going long and slow is great, but I need more speed work. Post race
Warm down: Walking around, getting cooled off and re-hydrated before going back out on the bike again. What limited your ability to perform faster: Physical strain from hard training, plus mental. I held back a little (subconsciously) because I knew I had a long bike to do after (1/2 IM course). I need to do more speed work, in all 3 sports. Drills for swimming, intervals for running and biking. I think that needs to be my focus during my off season this year, as this entire year is seeming to focus on base-building. Once my base is strong at the end of this year, I can do some power work this winter and kick ass next year. Event comments: As a Macon native, I feel like I had the home field advantage ( I ride on the course all the time). This is a great event, I will be back next year, this time for the 1/2 IM :) Last updated: 2010-04-28 12:00 AM

Drove down to Macon the night before. Wake up in the AM, got food and was out the door. Within 5 minutes, hit a rock in the road and got a flat in the car. Got it changed and got to the race site. Almost got kicked out of transition but made it in time.
None, since they make you walk down to the start 45 minutes before the sprint waves begin.
