Swim
Comments: Swim was good. Everyone at the race seems to think the swim was long (about 200 m longer). This was evident in my time. The RD even stated at the end of the course (in a joking manner) about a "very accurately measured swim". All in all good swim. In a small lake that was maybe 200yds wide by 400 yds long. Started to the right as this seemed to be a good line for me. I wasn't disappointed. I swam my swim and had a good one. Sighted great, drafted a bit, and all in all had a better than expected swim. Goggles leaked again, and when I got to T1, I threw them somewhere...didn't make it back home with me. What would you do differently?: Nothing... Transition 1
Comments: Everything right where I wanted it. Goggles and cap went down. Grabbed my helmet and sunglasses and off I went. Shoes clipped into pedals. Good tranition, but could have been way faster. 13th overall, so pleased with that. What would you do differently?: Nothing...except get faster. Not sure where I "lost" time, but could make it up in a couple weeks at the next one. Bike
Comments: Had shoes clipped into pedals. Jumped on bike and left shoe came uclipped. Lost about 1:30 on that issue. Other than that ok. Monkeyed around with fit early in the week, and it really hindered me on the bike. Had the best bike so far this season, but it really was not an optimal position for me. What would you do differently?: Not monkey around with fit on bike. Transition 2
Comments: Good T2. Again, could probably make up some time here, but will have to analyze and see. What would you do differently?: Not much. Run
Comments: Good run, shady. Mokeying around with the fit on the bike caused some good cramping for about the first half-mile. I knew I would be close to finishing 1st in my AG, so I ran through them. Walked the one aid station, just to ensure I got some water in me. What would you do differently?: Not much Post race
Warm down: Nothing...waited on the wife to finish. What limited your ability to perform faster: Nothing Event comments: All in all a good run race for a first year. Not enough volunteers. Swim course was long. Road was kind of crappy for a bit of the ride. Run was good. Last updated: 2010-06-21 12:00 AM

Nothing different than normal. Race was about 20 mins from the house, so no worries about getting there early. Went up Saturday to race packet pick-up. Was going to ride the course, but had to buy a one day permit for $4 to get in. Didn't want to spend that money just to see it...
Rode the bike about 500 yds to get the gearing correct and that's it.
