Pre-race routine:

Got up at 4, cup of coffee and headed down to Kure Beach. Started coning at 5, ate a banana and a pb sandwich at around 6. Finished setting up at around 7:30 and headed down to the beach to set up my stuff. Set shoes out at the road, did not bother leaving anything in the beach TA.
Event warmup:

No real warmup, got in the water and swam past the breaker just to see how strong the current was.

First swim was good, 7:00 not much contact and had a good swim.
Second swim was a little slow at first 9:04, had to catch my breath.
What would you do differently?:

Overall good swim, still need more speed.

Transition times are included in the run or bike times.
Ran through the beach TA and grabbed my shoes on the road.
Did make a stupid mistake and left with my running shoes still on, had to lay my bike down and figure out how to get my shoes back into TA without crossing back over the timing mat:)
Also managed to put my helmet on over my visor.
What would you do differently?:

Not forget to take off the running shoes, fill bike water bottle.

Decent bike, I thought it would have been quicker. I figure I lost about 30 seconds with the shoe mistake. Still needed to be about 2 minutes quicker.

Good runs, first was 11:56, second was 11:35. It looks like a lot of people slowed on the second run due to the heat. I felt like I got faster on the second run, managed to pick some people off on the way back to the beach.

Jogged back to the bike TA. Back to work:)

What limited your ability to perform faster:

This is kind of a wierd race, you can't really make up a lot of time on anyone because everything is so short. My biggest mistake was loosing time in the first TA, I came in with 3 others in my age group but never could catch back up.
