Swim
Comments: hyperventilated at beginning. Body not co-operating with brain. Got breathing under control after the second buoy (about 300m in or more). The only thing that kept me going was the thought of how embarassed I would be to tell people that I quit my first triathlon. What would you do differently?: Keep cooler while wearing wetsuit to start. I overheated waiting for the race to start, and the cold water sent my body into a panic. Transition 1
Comments: Decent amount of time spent in first tri T1 evah! What would you do differently?: untie my shoes while setting up, so that I don't have to untie them with wet, shaky hands! Bike
Comments: best bike evah! Only second time biking with aerobars; could not stay in that position the whole time. Took 10 minutes off of my time at St Malo which was only 2 weeks ago. What would you do differently?: Spend more time in aero-position. Transition 2
Comments: Felt I did pretty well in T2. Hurried along, didn't dawdle. Run
Comments: Tough to run in this heat. Forced into 30/30's again. What would you do differently?: Train more. Haven't had a training run since May 31. Only have run since then in a 1/2 marathon, duathlon, and now a triathlon. Post race
Warm down: eating fruit What limited your ability to perform faster: I'm a beginner and it was really, really hot today. That, and the hyperventilating during the swim leg.
