Harbor Springs Coastal Crawl : Official Thread

Possibly...looks awesome and I will post back soon after that weekend is figured out.  I am headed to Traverse City Thursday/Friday and then probably HS Saturday/Sunday.  I had a bit too much fun in HS last year the Saturday night before, and scrapped out...oops.  Isn't there also a 10K swim?

If anyone needs local advise on where to stay, etc., please let me know.  I spend a lot of time there.

mwa-ha-ha-ha-ha. You know you can change on race day! 

I'm just a wee bit nervous with no wetsuit and 69 degrees.  (so they say surface temp at the 1 mile buoy marker) Yes, I know, I'm weak and get cold.

I had a "wardrobe malfunction" when I did the Cedar Point training day on July 17.  I had a hole the size of a tennis ball at the base of the zipper. I guess I never inspected it when I got it home from the Howell OWS race on July 4. Took it to the dive shop and they said it's questionable whether they can repair or not; I might be better off buying a new one.  They couldn't even attempt to repair it in time for Harbor Springs.

BUT it might be karmic intervention showing me I can swim a mile w/out one no problem. 

IF -- and this is a big IF -- I stay in for CP I might do it without.  The water will be warm enough and ya know, tearing off a darn wetsuit is just a PITA. 

Not like I'm fast or anything and I'm certainly not worried about using it as a flotation device(i might be slow but never get freaked out).  Truly I just get cold.
