Don't know my # yet. I have to pick it up on race day. I'll be the one in the orange speedo with the hotdog on it.

Nice chatting with Jonny and Karen post-race.  I also did spot the guy with the hotdog speedo (who didn't?!?)

First time doing this race and it was quite a run from the pool to the bike racks (and another long run to the bike mount line).  Next race is probably going to be the Toyota US Open (my first Oly) though I may try to do the Stonebridge as open water practice.

Hey, I met that guy! The winner that is! HA! Funny... silly me asking him how he did. Slap me upside the head!

My race was so-so. Didn't taper. Rode 70 miles on Saturday. Wasn't my A race, so did what I could do without killing myself on the course.

Got to run with my friend Tim for the entire course. We just plodded along, talking and having fun.

One of these days I'll train for sprints and actually do some damage out there. Ha! Maybe in 2012. I have different plans till then.

Great seeing everyone out there! That's why I did this race. So I could see the people I know racing... and to race with my boyfriend and friend.

Tyler,

Thanks everyone! I know met a few of you on here. It's always good meeting new people.

Karen, you can still smash the sprints, they help you in the longer stuff. I am getting ready for Clearwater this year.

I am taking this week pretty easy then I'll race Clearlake near Houston on Saturday.

Well for me to perform at my best, I have to taper. I don't like messing with my HIM training plan for a sprint taper.

I always know if I am not at my best, if I get a side cramp during my race. The side cramp hit me on the run this time. Instead of the bike. The more rest I get before a race, the better I do and no side cramp.

And keep in mind, I am probably 10 years+ older than you and I am obviously not athletically gifted. Ha!

I tend to embrace the taper and extend it from days, to weeks to months before a race.  haha
