My wife, Angie, and I just signed up for this race!  It will be her first full Sprint (she was part of a relay several years ago in Amarillo).  It will be my 3rd TOTH.  I took a break from Triathlon races to enjoy our honeymoon Smile but the two of us have done several marathons and 1/2 mary's since Dec of '08 (She was there cheering me on at IMAZ '08).  We're already signed up for the Honolulu Marathon December 12th so as soon as TOTH is done, it's on to Marathon training (using Run less Run Faster book!  Angie and I bumped into Karen and Garrrrry at 24 Hr Fitness last week (Angie has never formally swam before) and got some great advice from Karen and we're excited to be doing a very "local" Tri together (We live in The Colony a stones throw from the Start/Finish).  I've already explained to her that her first tri should be all about having fun.  Although she's got a competative nature about her so she wants to do well.

I'm in...  I think...  I have a carryover registration from last year when they had to delay the race due to the pool being closed.  I am just up the road in Frisco, so I am thinking I will bike commute to the race.

I hope you can back that up. If you do come that will be 3 or 4 races with you next month.

haha, that would be fun. Already going to be enough fun as it is, so I guess I'll let you take one. Well correction, I think we will be finishing behind Dean at Bridgeland and Clear Lake. Brad may be able to take Rivercities though, he's going really good right now.

I'm making a last ditch effort to get in shape.

Terrific! Glad you two are doing it! Jonny and I are racing too! Yeah I had a minor bike wreck 10 days ago on a Tues and haven't been able to swim. Ugh.

Tell her to have fun with it!

I've been trying to do this try for 2 years now so I could compete in the emergency responders division but the date just never works out.

I have a question on bike and run routes - which direction will they go (counterclockwise or clockwise?). It will be my first time to do this race.

Both bike and run go clockwise.  (At least they did three years ago, when I last did this race.)

Last year it did the same.  4 right turns; 4 loops for oly, 2 for sprint.  The run went clockwise out then came back, though the oly run moved around some past the sprint turnaround.

Wrong race Jonny. You're thinking of Stonebridge.

Yes the bike and run both go clockwise. All right turns is easier for traffic control.

Looks like there are about 30 BT members planning to do this race this weekend.  It would be good to put a face to a name so perhaps we can post up our bib numbers after Friday's packet pick-up.

Got a chance to drive the course yesterday when it was raining...

Main and N. Colony have some holes/cracks that you will need to watch out for.   Also, the first turn from Memorial to Bear Run(?) has a fairly big hole on the outside of the turn.

I'm going to try a practice run on Saturday morning very early (since Main is busy).
