two places for you to try looking first off.

www.entrycentral.com - gives events through GB and Ireland. You can find event based on proximity to where you will be. Covers everything not just Tris.
For Ireland  - http://www.triathlonireland-server.com/Events/EventCalendar/2010 gives a listing of events based on county throughout Ireland - take your pick. 

You biggest problem is going to be the fact that many of the events will have closing dates for entries. If you're traveling soon you may have missed the boat on the ones which coincide with your visit, but you can have a look. Also you will require a Triathlon Ireland race licence to compete in Ireland and I'm sure a GB licence for GB events. I know you can buy one day licences from TI. Not sure about GB.
