![]() Swim
Comments: O.K. swim I guess. Felt like I was going pretty good. Navigation was a little off, but not too bad. Swim could have been better, but overall I was pleased. What would you do differently?: Nothing really, except sight a little more to not get off course. ![]() Transition 1
Comments: T1 was good. It included about a 300 yard run from the swim. Got to transition, sunglasses on, helmet on and run out of transition with shoes clipped in already. Mounted bike good and I was off. What would you do differently?: Nothing, except maybe learn the flying mount. ![]() Bike
Comments: Good bike for me. Wanted to average 20.5 MPH, and averaged 20.98, so for that I was pleased. What I wasn't real happy about, was because I didn't get a bike warm up, I didn't realize somehow in the ride over my rear brake pad got moved over. I realized this after my first 1/4 mile of the bike, I heard it rubbing. It took me about another 1/4 mile to get it moved over. It almost had me stopped. That was not a good way to start the bike off. However, even after a tragic first 1/2 mile, I was able to average almost 21, which is really good for me considering the challenge that is this course. What would you do differently?: Check my bikes mechanicals pre-race. ![]() Transition 2
Comments: Good T2, except when I was racking my bike, my computer fell off. I didn't worry about it. Somebody was nice enough to put it next to my bike. Helmet off, shoes on (no socks), grabbed visor and race belt and ran out putting my visor and race belt on while on the course. What would you do differently?: Nothing except be a little more careful racking my bike. ![]() Run
Comments: O.K. run. The hills got to me a little going out. I finally dialed in and felt good about 2 miles in, which isn't so good when you're running a 5K! Oh well. What would you do differently?: Nadda ![]() Post race
Warm down: Poured water over my head. Got back into the lake for awhile and into the pool they had on site. What limited your ability to perform faster: Training and experience along with the brake rub on the bike. Event comments: LOVE THIS RACE! For a small local race, it is extremely well put on. The course is awesome if you like a challenge. The post race was really good, with pizza, hotdogs, cookies, blueberry bread, fruit trays, sodas, water, juice, beer. Nice set up for the awards ceremony with bleachers under the trees overlooking the lake. Just awesome. Will definitely be back next year! Last updated: 2010-06-22 12:00 AM

Up at 4:45. Ate some cereal and half an english muffin with peanut butter.
Jogged about 1/4 mile, swam about 100 yards. Didn't get a chance to get on the bike at all, which turned out to be an issue even more than not getting the biking legs warmed up.
