Comments: Tired to go slow but this was my first open water swim of the year. Sheer terror drove my pace higher than i would have liked. What would you do differently?: SLOW DOWN...came out of the water with my hr too high. ![]() Transition 1
Comments: Just bought a new wetsuit before the race...literally 30 minutes before the start. Once my wetsuit was off things went very well... What would you do differently?: Use body glide on lower legs to get suit off. ![]() Bike
Comments: Swam too hard and that set me up for a hard bike...pushed to hard at the beginning rather than recovering. Did better at the turn around to slow down and race my own race. Chain fell off on climb but recovered quickly. What would you do differently?: Slow down on the first half of the course. ![]() Transition 2
Comments: Great transition...flet better.... What would you do differently?: not waste time putting my hat on. ![]() Run
Comments: Terrible.....I was so slow....didn't walk but sometimes it felt like I was with the people blastng past me....the heat and humidity got to me. What would you do differently?: Try and slow down on the swim and bike...leave more for the run. ![]() Post race
Warm down: See pic in album....took bottle of water and two cups to gatorade to lake...sat in water and recovered...felt great to cool down...my kids poured water on me...felt awesome! What limited your ability to perform faster: Terrible run...Poor pacing... Event comments: This race was a good wake up call. Need to focus on faster runs. Better pace. Bike power on the hills.
