Swim
Comments: 1:22 faster than last race. Time includes 1/4 mile run to T1. Actual swim time was 7:54. This was another great swim for me. What would you do differently?: Nothing, great swim. Well maybe not hit Steve in the mouth :-) I accidently hit him on one of my strokes. I was breathing to the right and he was on my left.He shouldn't be in my way though :-) Transition 1
Comments: Forgot water bottle to clean feet. longer transition trying to get some mud off of my feet. Also forgot to get sunglasses out of bag. What would you do differently?: checklist at transition setup. Bike
Comments: hit some bad road and man one bounced my right on my groin! Took a few seconds to recover from that. Same time within a second as last time. Probably windier than last race. What would you do differently?: Get going faster. Took too long to get into pedals and going. Transition 2
Comments: Took a few drinks of gatorade since I ran out on the bike. Half of bottle was still frozen. What would you do differently?: Freeze gatorade in aero bottle instead of bottle so it can thaw during swim and warmup. Run
Comments: Knew I was dead first 1/4 mile. Walked at 1/4 mile feeling awful and look at my watch and HR is only 163. Had that same problem as in my half mary last year. I think it is some imbalance with my potassium or something. Need to have checkup with doctor. Bike was feeling harder than it should and run was over as soon as it started! I felt so good coming into this race and was excited with the new bike. Great swim, solid bike, then the run... What would you do differently?: Not sure exactly what caused my problem. Not too hot, HR low for a sprint. Post race
Warm down: Walked around until I could control my arms again. What limited your ability to perform faster: whatever happened on the run. Event comments: Nice low key race. Nice run course in this Florida heat with the shade. Last updated: 2005-07-18 12:00 AM

get up and do morning functions, drive to race. Had half a clif bar, coffee and gatorade. Same as normal.
Just had time for a swim warmup. I don't think this affected my bike or run though. I didn't feel bad starting out on the bike.
