I have two beautiful Girls whom are my daughters.
My oldest (age one at the time) was at my first Tri and greeted me at the finish line when I was done.
Yesterday, she was there once again, 21 years later, when I crossed the finish line of my last race of this season.

She has a friend whose Dad died two weeks ago suddenly of a heart attack at 52 and I had asked how she was doing, (He was a very well liked person and it was such a shock) My oldest said that she was doing all right as well as can be expected. Then she said to me that she was so glad I decided to do Triathlon again and that she was really proud of her Dad.

Having Kids - One of the greatest ways to find unconditional Love!

I envy all of you with young children.  My daughter are 24 & 26 with lives of their own.   We are still very close but I miss all of the time we used to spend together camping, doing homework (really), four-wheeling in the mountains, teaching them to drive my truck in a field using hay bales as an obstacle course, cheering them on during x-country meets, coaching their soccer teams.

I do have more time to train now but....maybe it won't be too long before grand kids!!

There a million reasons I am glad I have kids.   Love the hugs, the stories, the exploring...I could go on.  Luckily I still have them on the young side 6, 4, and 3.....and coming this February our last addition to the family.

I'm glad I have kids that will stand by each other "No Matter What"

My daughters are 17 & 19 now, and are still best friends.

One of the proudest moments of my life came when they were little, and they were playing on the school ground after school.  It was winter, and I came to school to pick them up, but they were playing and laughing in the snow with the other kids, so I hung back and let them have a few more minutes.

They were probably 5 & 7 at the time, and a boy (8? 9?) comes barreling past and knocked the youngest daughter down accidentally - just being a boy running by to fast.  Daughter was fine.  Before I could react - my oldest girl took a quick glance down to make sure no blood/tears, and spun around and got right in that kids face, two handed him in the chest, knocked him down and stood over him and yelled: "Hey! That's MY SISTER!"

Those girls will and have gone to war for each other in a heartbeat.

I love my girls.  I miss them being little.

BUT!  I've just been blessed with a Grandson! So now I have my little girls growing into lovely ladies, AND a new awesome grandson to hold!
