Total Time = 2h 11m 22s
Overall Rank = 4/485
Age Group = m35-39
Age Group Rank = 2/
Pre-race routine:

Mr. Dan and I got up. I drank some coffee, had a PBNJ, sipped on some HEED
Event warmup:

Ran 5-7 minutes easy just to warm up, rode about 5 min to get shoes on and in the right gear (slight uphill mount), and then wet suit on and in the water for about 10 minutes of easy / hard swimming
  • 24m 2s
  • 1500 meters
  • 01m 36s / 100 meters

liked my swim better than last week
What would you do differently?:

need to train more at speed/intensity
Transition 1
  • 00m 35s
  • 1h 06m 49s
  • 24.85 miles
  • 22.31 mile/hr

Happy with the bike effort. I would like the speed and time to be faster but it is what it is
What would you do differently?:

Probably could have skipped the deep dish wheels today...
Transition 2
  • 00m 48s

Overshot transition. Wasn't paying attention
  • 39m 10s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 06m 19s  min/mile

Felt pretty good - tracked Kevin Weed. Closed the gap a little but we were both hurting
What would you do differently?:

Suck it up and drop the hammer. Get after it and try to pass the hard guy
Post race
Warm down:

Not much

Event comments:

That was really just an overall great race. Lots of fun - good course - extremely well organized - athlete friendly.

I was at a terrible race the week prior in the suburbs of Chicago.
