Swim
Comments: Waves were big. 10 feet+. Ocean was very choppy. I didn't even see the bouy until I was about 50 feet from it. Coming back in was even harder becuase I was tired and didn't want the waves to smash me into the sand. Only my 2nd ocean tri and I still got strong feelings of anxiaty and clostrophoic. Much better than my first ocean tri but I still need a lot of work with my mental state during the ocean swim What would you do differently?: I am going to try picking up a sleeveless wet suit and see if I feel more comfortalbe in it. Other than that I don't know what I would do differernt other than find a way to get more experiance with ocean swims. Transition 1
Comments: I was 138/354 in T1. I still think I can do better. I lost a lot of time getting my wet suit off because I let it drop too far when I was removing it at the end of the swim and my legs filled up with water. I had to stop and drain that out. Also I was so spent after the ocean swim it was hard to run through transition area. What would you do differently?: Take wet suit off later in swim. Try to run through trans area. Bike
Comments: I was happy with a overall finish of 83/354. I'm 49 and I am using a Hybrid bike. What would you do differently?: Buy a road bike!!! Transition 2
Comments: Still need to do better in trans. What would you do differently?: work faster in trans area Run
Comments: Being my first tri of the year and the run being my weakest leg I felt good. I only wish they had mile markers on the course. What would you do differently?: Try to run faster Post race
Warm down: Walking a half a mile to pick up my water bottle that fell off my bike. What limited your ability to perform faster: The addition of 15 pounds since last summer Last updated: 2010-08-19 12:00 AM
